Autumn/Winter 26 arrived at Galeries Lafayette Mumbai dressed for occasions. The Kala Ghoda flagship marked this arrival with the launch of A Grand Affair on the 5th of September, a month-long occasionwear pop-up across its second floor, bringing together elevated menswear and womenswear for moments that matter.
At its heart, A Grand Affair was an exploration of discovery. Known for its exceptional breadth of global brands, Galeries Lafayette distilled the season into a rich curation of newness, expertise and craftsmanship, building a destination where looks for weddings, festive gatherings and evenings that call for something extraordinary come effortlessly together.

Tara Sutaria & Tarun Tahiliani Lead The Launch with an Exclusive Collection
The evening culminated with actor Tara Sutaria and ace designer Tarun Tahiliani launching his collection exclusively in-store, delivering a moment that perfectly captured the spirit of the season. Tara’s elegance and Tarun’s presence lent the evening a deeper resonance, their approach to craftsmanship, drape and structure long instrumental in shaping the language of contemporary Indian occasionwear.

The evening also marked the launch of The Occasion Wardrobe, interpreted through four distinct fashion stories, each carrying its own visual identity and way of dressing.
A Royal Affair embraced a return to elevated evening dressing, favouring classic silhouettes, lustrous fabrics and statement proportions. Floor-length gowns, sculpted cocktail dresses and intricate embellishments came together in a mood that felt expressive rather than conventionally formal.
Over the White Shirt took menswear’s most enduring foundation and reimagined it as a canvas for layering. Classic tailoring gave way to a more individual language, suited to cocktails, soirées and after-parties alike.
In Full Bloom brought a playful, botanical energy to the season, drawing on nature through prints, motifs and earthy elegance. Flowing dresses and patterned shirts made it a natural fit for pre-wedding festivities and bachelor and bachelorette celebrations.

The Destination Edit travelled across four locations that continue to hold appeal for today’s bride and groom – Greece, Rajasthan, Lake Como and the Maldives, each edit shaped by the character, climate and aesthetic of its place.
More than a season launch, A Grand Affair reaffirmed Galeries Lafayette Mumbai’s enduring ability to curate clothes that are both expressive and wearable, proving that true luxury lies in craftsmanship, emotion and a distinctive point of view.
